Chelsea beat Barcelona 4-2 in Pre-season penalty shoot-out

Cahill's goal forced the match through to a penalty shoot-out.

Chelsea finished their tour of US with a win against the Champions league holders, Barcelona.



The Match ended 2-2 after 90 minutes which forced a penalty shoot-out between the two football clubs.

Eden hazard opened the scoring in the 10 minutes of the first half with a great and stupendous goal dribbling through five defenders before slotting home pass Stegen.

Chelsea could have made it 2-0 before the break when Oscar's free-kick hit the woodwork in the 26th minute.


Courtois gave Luis Suarez problems when he made crucial saves to deny him his efforts.

In the 52nd minute, Barca got their equaliser when Luis Suarez volleyed pass Courtois.

Barca went in front in the 66th minute when Sandro Ramirez powerful effort curled directly to the upper right corner.

Towards the end of 90 minutes, Chelsea defender, Gary Cahill scored from a header in the 86th minute forcing the game to equal on level terms.

With the equaliser, Cahill had a bleeding nose and was substituted and replaced with Chelsea youngster, Nathaniel Chalobah.

After the 90 minutes, the game needed a penalty to award the deserved winners.

Barca was the first to take as Iniesta sent Courtois the wrong way, Falcao scored for Chelsea, Barca's Halilovic missed when his powerful lob hit the woodwork. Victor Moses went on to score for Chelsea while Pique (GĂ©rard) missed his own when Courtois caught his spot-kick, Ramires, Sandro (Ramirez) and Loic Remy all scored as Chelsea finally win 4-2 in the shoot-out.
