15 Fashion Problems All Short Girls Will Understand

1. You dread a long sleeve. They always swing below your wrists, making you feel like a little girl. Roll them up and it is even worse. Try and style it out, and you'll only end up with some sort of condiment over them by dinner time!

2. Jumpsuits are a no-go. Not only are the legs too long, but the crotch is in the wrong place. Unless it's MC Hammer's look you're going for, best steer clear altogether.

3. The same goes for flares. Try to hem a pair to make them a more suitable length and your beautiful flares will quickly transform into the dreaded boot-cut! I have yet to discover a solution to this problem (apart from maybe learning how to walk on stilts).

4. Fashion tape is your best friend. Who has the time (or patience) to take up hems of pants? Who even owns a needle and thread? Say hello to fashion tape, the lazy girl's answer to hemming and basically everything else.

5. You have to add on at least $15 to the price of most new purchases. For clothes where fashion tape just wont cut it, you will need to get your new dress/pants/skirt professionally hemmed or altered. Being short comes at a price and it's always at least an extra $15!

6. You have to wear heels on a night out. Try ordering a drink in a club while wearing a stylish ballet flat and you run the risk of not being able to see over the bar. Unfortunately for shorties, they must always suffer having sore feet.

Anything oversize makes you look like you're playing in the grown-ups' fancy closet. The oversize trend is not something the vertically challenged can embrace. What looks stylish on a tall girl only makes short girls look like they have jumped into their parents' fancy closet.

9. You basically need to become obsessed with weather apps. Your outfit choices are hugely based on the weather forecast. If rain is likely, you have to stay clear of any maxi dresses/long skirts for fear of the soggy hem.

10. Tripping happens on the reg. You bought something long, you spent $15 hemming it, you're wearing heels, but you are still pretty much guaranteed to trip over wearing it at some point.

11. Finding a skirt is hell on earth. You try on a miniskirt — it sits on your knees. You look for a knee-length skirt — but they all land on your calves. You've got your eye on a midi skirt — but it's a maxi on you. Will the trauma never end!

12. It's the same with winter boots. Ankle-length hit you at the calf, knee-length hit you at the thigh, and over-the-knee boots? Well, let's just say, they hit you where it hurts.

13. Tights are always too long. You either have to fold them over at the waist or you end up looking like a child.

14. Forget shopping online.

What comes down to the floor on the model will be at least five inches too long for you.

15. All your jeans are ripped at the bottom. No. They're not meant to look like that.
